Terms of Service
Last updated: 16 May 2026
These terms govern your use of Ricordi. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Ricordi.
The service
Ricordi is software that helps music studios manage lessons, recordings, notes, and communication between teachers, students, and parents. The service is operated by Oliver Nelson, sole trader, based in New South Wales, Australia ("we", "us", or "Ricordi").
Your account
- You must be old enough to enter a contract in your jurisdiction, or use the service with the consent of a parent or guardian under the supervision of a music studio that manages the account.
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything that happens under your account.
- If you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us immediately.
Studios and roles
Ricordi is organised around studios. A studio is created by a manager who invites teachers, students, and parents. Managers control who has access to their studio and what role each member has. Members can be removed by a manager at any time, which revokes their access to that studio's content.
Your content
You keep all rights to the content you create or upload — messages, files, recordings, notes, and documents. You grant Ricordi a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, store, process, and display that content for the purpose of providing the service to you and the other members of your studio. This licence ends when you remove the content or delete your account, except where the content has been shared with others in a chat (see the Privacy Policy for what happens to shared content on account deletion).
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for anything illegal, harmful, or fraudulent.
- Upload content you don't have the right to share, including copyrighted material you don't have permission to use.
- Record any person without first obtaining the consent required by law in your jurisdiction.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts, studios, or the underlying systems.
- Use the service to harass, threaten, or harm others.
- Interfere with the operation of the service, including by overloading it or probing it for vulnerabilities.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or build a competing product using data obtained from Ricordi.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
AI features
Some parts of Ricordi use AI from third-party providers (currently OpenAI and Anthropic) — for example, the Bartók assistant and AI summaries of transcripts. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete. You should review AI-generated content before relying on it.
Privacy
Our handling of your personal information is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time from the profile page. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, if your account has been inactive for a long period, or if we are required to do so by law.
Disclaimers
Ricordi is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, about the service, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI features will produce accurate results. Nothing in these terms excludes any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ricordi will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or AUD $100, whichever is greater.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the service after the changes take effect means you accept them.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of New South Wales, unless the law of your country of residence requires otherwise.
